1419860 2016-05-01 01:18:00 I've got something similar to that pad, but for a Lumia phone. But it was a lot cheaper about $8 on Ebay. Instead of using power, I use a solar powerbank. Which supplies 1/2A

Does a pretty good job.

Don't think it will help your phone bill much.!

1419861 2016-05-01 01:45:00 Thats why it's solar. It doesnt use power. It's got a 1A/2A output for whatever Speedy Gonzales (78)
1419862 2016-05-01 02:39:00 My point was, the power saved amounts to nowt, cost wise. Cicero (40)
1419863 2016-05-01 08:49:00 Well, if it means not running 2km of 3 core flex to power your charger . . . R2x1 (4628)

Well of course, the phone bill doesn't track power usage...

1419865 2016-05-01 23:03:00 I like solar in theory, not a great investment in practice Unless it saves you getting expensive electrical work done.
But on a small scale for a cellphone charger, why not. I would comment that the wireless chargers are inefficient and you lose quite a bit of power through them. You'd get less waste connecting directly to the phone on solar power.

I bought the expensive Samsung wireless charging back cover for my Note 3 and I love the convenience. It does however prevent me from using many aftermarket covers as it's thicker than the standard cover. I also bought a cheapo wireless converter but it conflicts with the S cover I wanted to use with it (they both want to use the same contacts).

One of the best things about wireless charging for me is the compatible car mount I got off E-bay.

you'll still need that 2km of 3 core flex if its overcast or at night :-)
