1423994 2016-08-03 02:07:00 Hi all,

Further to Smithie 38 comments by installing Waterfox etc, I tried to install same 64 bit onto my 32 bit pooter
Then I saw I need 5 gb RAM and I have only 4 gb RAM so I stopped the download-- if I had had the RAM would the 64 have worked or not

1423995 2016-08-03 02:42:00 You cant install 64 bit programs, on a 32 bit system. You can only install 32 bit programs on 64 bit windows Speedy Gonzales (78)
1423996 2016-08-03 04:46:00 Hi Speedy

Thanks-- just as well I stopped download-- the new FF for 32 bit comes up with a vastly different format and requires all sorts of clicking on that was automatic and no amount of backtracking to any familiar series runs aground so I have uninstalled and re installed ad nauseum to no effect
Any ideas as to how I could get back as above?

1423997 2016-08-03 04:56:00 Did you get the stub install or the full install of FF? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1423998 2016-08-03 07:27:00 Hi Speedy,

No nothing -- as I have had visitors can you steer me to a site that will re instate FF as a base /homepage ?
everytime I try ESET blocks it with no "allow" button to push and when finally past that I get a very labour intensive latest version

1423999 2016-08-03 07:34:00 You can always get the latest version here (www.mozilla.org). Just select the language and since you use 32 bit, the 32 bit version Speedy Gonzales (78)
1424000 2016-08-03 07:44:00 Hi

Yes I have downloaded that version, and it only has script in blue buttons which have to be reticked at the button/spot you used to get as the home page opened-automatically-not now

Even the home page has to be looked for- it will nOT open at start off

1424001 2016-08-03 07:49:00 You have to go into options and type in the site you want to use as the homepage. What has script in blue buttons? When you download FF? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1424002 2016-08-03 07:55:00 Hi,
The script/blue outlined buttons are in two rows with various locations to require a tick before I get the site I was getting automatically and no home page ( using www.xtra.co.nz ) as home page used to be first on display- not now
