| 1423520 | 2016-07-23 00:16:00 | Hi All. I have started my preparations to transfer to Outlook as we are we are being asked to do by MS. At this point I prefer the Outlook, however. In the list of folders for the addresses down the left side I wanst to bring the email addresses to the top & general folders below. Can that be done? Second. In the personal list of categories as above. How do I make my main EM address the "Default" One. Thanks. PJ |

At the bottom left you can chnge the order of the icons by right clickin in that area and then moving the options up or down as required For the most part when you send emails you just click New E-mail at the top left or use Ctrl N When you start Outlook then you wnt to be able to see if messages have arrived As for the default email address then you can click on File / Account Settings to see which is the default email address and change if required. Note all the above is for MS Outlook. |

Do you have a program like Microsoft Outlook (part of the Microsoft Office set of Programs or do you log into it on the internet? Other programs as part of the MS Office include Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc. Note that MS Outlook as above has to have been paid for, its not free. I am just trying to figure out where you are seeing Outlook.com For instance I use MS Outlook 2010 but I can also log in to my email on the internet to Outlook.Com I use this link for the internet https://login.live.com/ |

Often on PC's they have a trial version on there that only lasts a short time (30 days or so) and then you have to pay for the program or for the suite of programs If you go Start / All Programs / Microsoft Office / Microsoft Outlook (click Microsoft outlook) If Microsoft Outlook starts then go File (top left) / Help It should show whether Microsoft Office is activated or not in the middle of the screen If permanently activated it should say Product Activated ( at least on my Outlook 2010 it does) Yous may be a different year 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 |

With Outlook 2003, being to old you have to first install the Outlook Connector. You can get the Connector from support.microsoft.com Scroll down the page till you get to Outlook 2007 and outlook 2003, read and follow the instructions. |

| 1423529 | 2016-07-24 05:55:00 | I would be reluctant to use Outlook 2003 as it is no longer supported by Microsoft with security updates. Potentially you could be exposed to security breeches. I understand when you start Outlook 2003 it is asking you to create an account but cant you just cancel that part for now and look to see if Outlook 2003 is activated as above. You need to be sure you will be able to use it, if not then a licence will need to be purchased, and not cheap. Go to File (top left) / Help It should show whether Microsoft Office is activated or not in the middle of the screen The other question is do you know what your Username and password is for your email address or addresses? You will need this when creating an account or alternatively by logging into the Internet on this (for Outlook and hotmail addresses) https://login.live.com/ |
