1420272 2016-05-09 01:23:00 Edge now can have Adblock and Adblockplus.

The "gotya" is it appears its only working on the insider builds which Edge has extensions, the current public build doesn't appear to work :(

Works great on insider builds :D

But ya can always try -- www.microsoft.com If not then it certainly will on the next public upgrade of W10, coming very soon.

1420273 2016-05-09 01:48:00 Hopefully it comes to mobile as well :) pcuser42 (130)
1420274 2016-05-09 02:27:00 Saw it earlier but it says you need to upgrade windows. And gives a foreign site. I'll stick with FF Speedy Gonzales (78)
1420275 2016-05-09 03:19:00 I just use ublock origin on FF who needs edge gary67 (56)
1420276 2016-05-09 03:29:00 Good news, but it comes as more and more sites decide to block access to people using adblockers. You can't even read the articles on this site with it enabled.

I was keen on Edge at first, but then with no ad blocking and some websites that didn't work I abandoned it. Maybe I'll try it again one day, but the damage was done releasing it in its initial state. People have long memories for this stuff and will label it based on that release for many years to come no matter how good it becomes.

It's just like Vista for example, a horrible dog on release and eventually fixed but stuck with that reputation forever. These days the only real issues with it are slightly more resource use than 7 and a more annoying version of UAC but people talk about it as if it was in the same class as Millennium (now there's a real dog of an OS).

1420277 2016-05-09 03:52:00 Ditto, tried Edge when W10 first appeared..........worse than useless...........so consigned to rubbish bin.....for all time. Terry Porritt (14)
1420278 2016-05-09 04:15:00 Some example of Adblock -- this is the latest insider preview, with the newer Edge. This site PF1 and Stuff.

Both work fine can look at any articles or forum post with adblock active.

The newer Edge has quite a few good little "tweeks" added. :)

Gotta like this option :)

You can't even read the articles on this site with it enabled. It's no longer my home page for that reason. I just skip any website that blocks adblockers. Of course, some of them can be worked around ;) pcuser42 (130)

. This site is working fine (at the moment) with Edge and the new adblocker . It blocks all ads nicely, can still browse or open / reply to threads :)

1420281 2016-05-09 10:30:00 I didn't mention the forums, it was the articles on PC worlds home page but they seem to be working again now. dugimodo (138)
