641976 2008-02-19 20:53:00 Quite often I have to scoll through a number of pdf images to find the appropriate one. With Adobe Reader you have to open each file which is quite time consuming. Is there an add on to Windows Explorer that allows you to view pdf images as thumbnails just like jpgs etc?

If not is there something I can use that replaces explorer altogether?

Thanks in anticipation

641977 2008-02-19 21:15:00 Hi ecurb. I think it depends on your OS. In Vista, using Windows Explorer with the Preview option set you get a neat look at the contents of each file, including pdf's without opening a file. Scouse (83)

641979 2008-02-19 21:34:00 You could try this (www.coolpdf.com)

Its freeware. Dont know if its what youre after

Its a standalone program (no installing)

Just tried it, it gives you thumbnails in the file (it creates another PDF file), with the thumbnails on the left hand side, not within My computer

641980 2008-02-19 22:29:00 Thanks. Unless I'm doing it wrong you have to open each pdf to create the thumbnail. Thats what I'm trying to avoid. In explorer you switch to thumbnail view and its done for all jpg files in a matter of seconds. I want to do the same for pdf's ecurb (3669)
641981 2008-02-19 22:34:00 PDF thumbnails are more like chapters, and not all of them have pics (if this is what you want in them).

And PDF isnt a graphic file like Jpeg / tiff etc

641982 2008-02-20 00:59:00 Go To Views set the folder to Thumbnail - works on Xp as well as vista.

Example: PDF with view Set to Icon (www.imagef1.net.nz) and the same PDF Set to thumbnail (www.imagef1.net.nz). This will need be done for each folder.
