| 326832 | 2005-02-21 03:54:00 | wicked, a free distro on a disk is brilliant. im just wondering, have you recived a cd yet? that must cost them a fair bit to send it from the states or where ever it comes from :) | Prescott (11) | ||
| 326833 | 2005-02-21 04:14:00 | Hey Prescott, I received mine last week, took 3 weeks, but they say it can take from 4-6 weeks depending on where you are. I only got the x86 version, comes in a boxed package with Hard Drive installation CD and a Live CD. I wasn't too greedy and only asked for 1 CD. I haven't tried installing it yet, but the Live CD is good to try it out first to see if it works correctly before attempting to install. Cheers, Kame. |

| 326837 | 2005-02-21 07:15:00 | yeah i noticed that, but still that must cost Ubuntu a hell of a lot of money to send that to the other side of the world. | Prescott (11) | ||
| 326838 | 2005-02-21 07:17:00 | They actually send 10 sets by default because the postage for 1 is the same for 10. They come from Zurich, and take about 3-4 weeks to arrive. Very nicely presented in a glossy double CD sleeve. :) You can hand out the CD's to friends etc as ILL suggests and the Live-CD is good for those who wish to take a peek preview at Ubuntu without having to install Linux. [edit] The CD's are sponsored by Canonical (http://www.canonical.com/) |
