| 642077 | 2008-02-21 09:19:00 | Why not use a cheap local host? [edited] is only $6.99 per month for 50MB of space, 2GB data, no ads, and NZ-based servers. $7 x 12mo = $84 / yr $84 will buy lots of beer so Freezoka sounds better to me :D |

| 642080 | 2008-02-22 01:32:00 | Currently I am using freewebs as a host, but im sick of their banner that hangs on the topor bottom of my page. Any good webhosts that dont have ads/banners? Cheers your ISP may offer hosting as part of your package. |

There are quite a lot like that, but I don't think they last very long. They must rely on people clicking on the ads in their forum. x10 only requires you to log in at least once a fortnight - you don't have to post. It's as easy as setting the forum as a second homepage. :) |

| 642082 | 2008-02-22 03:14:00 | I use a .sk host. 50mb, email, php, mysql, pop3, antispam I signed up about 5 years ago at a cost of $5US once only payment. Works fine for me. It has one small popup but not too obtrusive. |

I used a similar one last year to try it out, but they disappeared after a few month, as did my website, which was very annoying. I guess you get what you pay for, especially with these offshore hosts. |

| 642084 | 2008-02-23 00:51:00 | I have been using Freehostia for I would guess at least 2 years and they have been great. Plenty of space and no banners. Great for photo albums. | jberries (13063) | ||
| 642085 | 2008-02-27 08:11:00 | If you haven't already settled with a free webhost, 000webhost (www.000webhost.com/) would be worth a look, pretty decent features for free (250MB ads). I don't use them so couldn't comment on their service otherwise. | sal (67) | ||
| 642086 | 2008-02-27 23:23:00 | I am making a very basic website for a friend of mine, and Danielnz's post looked interesting . I thought you had to pay $100's of dollars for domain name, then more to someone else to host the actual website . Can someone please explain how it works, cos at present, I am building it on Goecities, but want to transfer it when they get the business up and running . I don't mind emails if the above question breaks F1 policy, as I would hate to be banned from here . |
