| 326713 | 2007-02-16 06:40:00 | I didn't realise silverchair was still around. I'll have to find out what their later music is like, but now I'm going to read the rest of this thread to find out how a linux vs windows troll became a thread about Rock & Roll. | Greven (91) | ||
| 326714 | 2007-02-16 06:41:00 | Your right.... Gibby Hayes is guest vocalist on that song.. He'd be doing the silly bit. I just checked on Goggle, and am slapping myself for not picking up that tidbit of info. Yes voice CAN be another instrument, but there are so many songs out there that are so much better when the vocalist just shuts up... :D i'm a tad confused by the "I have far more respect for a band who has put some effort and thought into their craft" comment. That particular CD is one where a lot went into it, unlike the techno rubbish that preceded it, and i consider it quite overall structured, even if it is in parts a wall of noise.. |

| 326716 | 2007-02-16 06:49:00 | [quote=personthingy;525874]In truth, i thought they had faded away after the first CD, and to see that youtube was a serious disappointment, but they may well be great live.. I've seen many a great band whose music i wouldn't let near my HDD The point with the ramones, ministry, and whoever went "shu-wah-diddy" is that rock and roll lyrics are often little more than a vocal noise designed to fit, and thus allow the song to keep going... Some artists took it to the extreme, possibly taking the piss and seeing if people got the joke or not... who knows? Depth is not something to be expected, usually, although this is often better than political tripe coming from people so useless that they are in fact musicians, but who somehow feel they have the right to tell the actual doers what they should be doing.... Although i will agree about your ministry comment in 90% of their work, just not Psalm69, where "Jesus built my hotrod" and its' o so stupid "lyrics" come from. :)[/quote what the hell???? That wasn't my post??? and going by the reply my original post was there, so w t f is this? |

I've seen this a few time the last couple of days ... the quoted part of their post remains but they have managed to lose what they wrote after editing it. | 326719 | 2007-02-16 07:30:00 | Crappy? My god man, are you insane? Sure, at the end of the day the OS of choice is meaningless dribble, But calling Child in Time crappy?, My god, Madness, It has a 2 minute guitar solo for Christs sake, 2 freakin minutes, God damn, Classic legendary, jawdropping, brain mellting genius song for sure, but Crappy?...not unless your so far over the line that you have no idea there was a line. Do you see the line? well? Do ya? Oh yeah, Nice work using Windows to promote Linux, Probally had this www.youtube.com playing while you posted as well, Though Im certain there is a 20 minute version somewhere. :D:D:D:D:D Is there an instrumental version of sweet child in time? I love the guitar work, but I'm not a big fan of the vocals. Now I see how this thread got so off topic. Have you had any recent experiences with linux? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be interested in an update. |

What you don't seem to realise pctek is that once you have a linux box set up it requires very little tinkering unlike Windows. Take your pick of sites (www.google.co.nz). |

You mean to say I contributed in some way to this thread in some other way then ranting about music? Well, Im not going back through 130 odd posts to see what biased dribble I spewed out a year ago. |

Now I'm confused (**** Cici). That's what happened to my reply to Billy when I edited it, but the freaky thing is, I don't have friggin wallpaper  |
