You could just block the adds...then at least it would only annoy other people who visit your site. |

Cheers Some may be free for a few months, but they either go out of business, or they start to then charge you, or they will put ads on your website. This is now what Orcons Free hosting is going to do. Also the free ones tend to be unreliable with overloaded slow servers. Why do you expect it to be free, as someone has to pay, whether it be with ads on the site or in some other way? Your ISP may give you some free hosting space that is included with your broadbandplan. |

| 642070 | 2008-02-20 01:13:00 | I use netfirms free basic plan for one of my sites, but that too has a header ad banner. 110mb (www.absolutely-free-hosting.com) and freehostia (www.absolutely-free-hosting.com)are common hosts recommended in USA web/blog forums, and I think they don't display ads. But their may be tasks that you may have to do - e.g. forum participations. List of free hosts and their features (or lack of) are here... | 642071 | 2008-02-20 01:44:00 | I use byethost.com which is free and you get 100mb of storage and no ads on your website. The only ads you see are on the control panel, and you will be the only one who sees them. their the best deal if seen so far. If one of the links on your website don't work instead of saying page not found it leads you to a website full of ads, so they don't force any ads on to your website directly. | spaceman8815 (4112) | ||
| 642072 | 2008-02-20 02:52:00 | I use x10hosting, and it is the best free host on the planet - it acts as if it were a paid host. :D No ads, heaps of space (1-5GB I think), lots of addons - you name it, they have it. |

For those types of providers you have to participate in their forums on a regualr basis, otherwise they delte your website. There are quite a lot like that, but I don't think they last very long. They must rely on people clicking on the ads in their forum. |

| 642074 | 2008-02-20 07:24:00 | Freezoka (http://www.freezoka.com/) are pretty good; 300mb space + 10GB bandwidth plus many others. Only takes 30 seconds (serious) to sign up. No ads on the site though you get some banners on your control panel which you can easily remove with AdBlock Plus. | jason_f90 (3544) | ||
| 642075 | 2008-02-21 03:13:00 | Why not use a cheap local host? [edit: pimping my company here] is only $6.99 per month for 50MB of space, 2GB data, no ads, and NZ-based servers. | danielnz (13425) | ||
| 642076 | 2008-02-21 08:53:00 | Although the above post looks as though its spam, I agree with the suggestion of paid hosting. For a few dollars per month you can save yourself a lot of trouble. :) | maccrazy (6741) | ||
