| 642698 | 2008-02-22 10:45:00 | i got this problem on my notebook..(vista home basic) my friend installed the nero 7. but unfortunately i was interrupted by vista (of course, compatability problems)..so nero 7 said that there were no changes on my pc but after a restart i got this nero scout running and i cant delete the nero folder on program filesof the pc..what should i do? can you please elaborate the steps and enumerate registry changes made by nero? thanks.. |

| 642699 | 2008-02-22 17:25:00 | Uninstall it, or use The clean tool (ftp://ftp6.nero.com/tools/General-CleanTool.zip) Which is here (www.nero.com) Youre not meant to delete its folder, (or any programs folder, without uninstalling it first). Thats why its got an uninstall option in add/remove programs. Or whatever Vista uses |

It depends on what version of Nero you installed I think you have to have 7.5 something (or it could be 7.8) for Nero to be compatible. ok...nero did install but it was not complete..it was terminated by vista while it was installing, it made changes o my registry ang made folders for nero (which i cant delete manually)..also, nero scout is always on..lol(even without the files in the nero folder)..wait, ill install the cleaner and post the results.. |

Then disable Scout in the window that comes up. It'll remove it from the taskbar and My computer / whatever Vista uses Did you use the clean tool? |

It'll remove it from the taskbar and My computer / whatever Vista uses Did you use the clean tool? ok...nero scout doesnt appear on vista taskbar..it only appears in my computer..it has no icon..it is only a folder..and i used the cleaner 3 times..i clicked the location "program files>nero>nero 7" but it wont remove the scout..maybe its in the registry because there are only 3 files left in the nero 7 folder...all shared dlls so i cant delete them... so what should i do now? reformat? |

What cleaner are you talking about?? ccleaner? You dont point it to a folder and delete the files. You'll screw the program up. |
