330068 2005-03-03 04:16:00 Well, I've been playing around with mine, come up with a couple of programs for all the other bored students out there. These were written and designed on a Casio FX-9750G Plus but should work on all other Casio 9xxx's (plus and not plus)

I can only ask that you keep the " Coded by Tom Rix " bit :)

For information on which keys to press go here (members.lycos.co.uk)

The \'s mean the little triangle you get by pressing Shift - Vars - F5

First one is Guess The Number, easy, simple, kinda boring. THere are many versions on the internet, but I think mine is quite slick (IMO :) ). A special feature or cheat if you will, enter .12345 as a guess and it will give you the number you were trying to guess. But then it kicks you but so you cant enter it and win. Here's the code:

CoordOff
GridOff
AxesOff
LabelOff
ClrGraph
Text 1,21, " GUESS THE NUMBER "
Text 11,22, " CODED BY TOM RIX "
Text 21,23, " PRESS EXE TO BEGIN "
Text 58,105, " V 2.0 "
Lbl 8
If Getkey=31
Then Goto 1
Else Goto 8
Lbl 1
ClrGraph
" ENTER MAXIMUM NUMBER " ?->X
Int XRan#->A
0->T
Lbl 0
T+1->T
" GUESS " ?->G
If G=.12345
Then A/
Goto 1
Else If G>A
Then " LOWER "
Goto 0
Else If G<A
Then " HIGHER "
Goto 0
Else If G=A
Then " CORRECT "
" NUMBER OF GUESSES: "
T\
Goto 1

The next is a nice little betting game. You have to choose a number between 1 and 6. Random numbers are displayed a few times and it finally settles on one. The bet is 5, if you get it bang on, you get 25 dollars, if you are one off, you get 5 (so your break even) or if you are more than one off you lose 5. Enter your bet of what you think the number will be by press 1-6 on the calc.

Text 7,1, " YOUR BET: "

Text 1,44,O
If Getkey=72
Then 1->B

Else If Getkey=53

Else Goto 6
Goto 0
Lbl 7
Text 31,59, " " ## Three spaces
Text 7,44,B
Text 1,44,O
Text 31,63, " " ## Four Spaces
Lbl 0
V+1->V
Lbl 9
Int 7Ran#->D
If D=0
Then Goto 9
Else If V<9 ## How many times to change the number
Then Text 31,63,D
Goto 0
Else 0->V
Text 31,63,D
IfEnd
If D=B
Then Text 1,70, " JACKPOT! 25 "
O+25->O ## How much Jackpot is worth
Text 1,44,O/
Text 1,70, " " ## Eleven Spaces
Goto 6
Else If B=D-1 Or B=D+1
Then Text 1,70, " YOU WIN 5 "
O+5->O ## How much a Close Call is worth
Text 1,44,O/
Text 1,70, " " ## Eleven Spaces
Goto 6
Else Text 1,70, " YOU LOSE 5 "
O-5->O
Text 1,44,O/
Text 1,70, " " ## Eleven Spaces
Goto 6

Enjoy, any problems, PM me.

330069 2005-03-03 05:33:00 Heh, nice. Something to waste away the calculus period for me! mejobloggs (264)
330070 2005-03-03 06:16:00 i got into this last year and had tones of fun, i had quite a few games including minigolf, guess a number between 1-1000 and paint.........

my guess the number had way less code.....

330071 2005-03-03 06:39:00 i did have lots of bookmarks with links to those games and stuff but all my bookmarks are gone :( Prescott (11)
330072 2005-03-03 08:12:00 I spent most of 6th form maths and 7th form calculus playing my paper, scissors , rock game. Oh the hours of entertainment when the rest of the class is sick of playing paper, scissors, rock with you. Calculuators will always be there for you ;)

330073 2005-03-03 08:18:00 You can do a simple "roll the die" program which is quite short and equivalent to the "guess a number" game. Plus you can rig it to be biased towards six, or anything like that.

We tried doing a blackjack game, but it was hardly realistic.

Best fun was text adventures with maps stored as graph backgrounds, multiple endings, and things like that. What time-wasters...

Arguably the best program to make though? A replicant of the memory cleared screen. ;)

330074 2005-03-03 08:36:00 I want to buy a graphics calculator. Is there a certain brand/type I should buy? mejobloggs (264)
330075 2005-03-03 18:55:00 Which to buy? I;d go for the FX-9750G Plus or the next one u that has 3 colours, I'm not sure how much more expensive it is.

Here's my dice roller: (it changed the nuberm a few times before it settles:

Teachers at our school insists on pressing the reset button on the back :(

330077 2005-03-04 01:11:00 i had my selection of games for the whole year, until a teacher reset my calculator when we had our end of year school exams.

minigolf is still the best game i found. you can get even better games if you have one of those cables, and there is even a site that teaches you how to make a DIY cable with a serial cable or something......
