| 329922 | 2007-09-15 01:26:00 | We should get Rob into this..but I don't totally agree with you Met. Sometimes one genius can hold a group together musically, but to assume that all the members are as gifted or talented as the musical leader isn't fair. Thats not what I said at all. Besides, I hate the Eagles music with a passion. |

| 329924 | 2007-09-15 04:55:00 | There is a murmur behind closed walls maiden 'Could be....' coming to NZ. But it is just talk. Also Megadeth have stated that their was not much support from promoters for them (megadeth) to come over. What a bummer, Im sure either of these bands would be an instant sell out ticket wise. Even 6000+ petition for megadeth wasnt enough to get them here(even though the petition was mega hard to find). If smaller bands can do it, Im sure the legends can....maybe I should become a promoter :D |

| 329927 | 2007-09-16 01:24:00 | I assumed from your question phrasing & initial post that you were an Iron Maiden-obsessed teenager looking for reinforcement of your own ideas. I dont think anyone could have summed up the OP thread any better Laura! Teenagers don't listen to Iron Maiden, Their most popular year was 1984. 20 odd years ago and concerts nowadays are generally people in their 30's or 40's. I'm sitting at a friends house now and his younger 18 year old brother is listening to Iron Maiden, there are still a surprisingly large number of teenagers listening to older music. This is one of the greatest triumphs of the internet in my opinion, it may have created widespread piracy but its also opened up some of the greatest music to a new generation. I've personally gone on to buy many older album after downloading them originally. Velvet Revolver has just done two gigs. When did VR play two gigs? As far as I'm aware last time they play was Feb 2005, although I'd expect another gig sometime soon in support of the new album. |

| 329929 | 2007-09-16 02:56:00 | My mate was just telling me how he was waiting in the line to enter Mt Smart to see Iron Maiden. Was about 1987 I think he said. They were told that the concert was cancelled due to a strike at Sydney Airport and Iron Maiden were still in Australia. They never did come back :annoyed: |
