When you say 2 (or 3) bases, is that 2 (or 3) phones but only one is plugged directly into the router, the other 1 (or 2) phones connect wirelessly to the main base?

cheers

I have this arrangement with Woosh and it works fantastically. I have Uniden (not sure what the model no. is) and the base is plugged into the router and have secondary handsets that just require power dotted around. You can buy as many secondary handsets as you want provided your base can support all of them (mine can go upto 6 I think)

Nope, just one Woosh no.

The one main base controls all the other secondary handsets, they all just work off one number.

Found a suitable looking set of phones ;)

Now just have to source a suitable VFX certified modem/router with wireless capabilities, ideally in Chch

cheers

Hi Ravage
I can certainly recommend a modem/router. For the last 1 1/2 years I have been using the wag54gp2 and it has been solid!
The linksys interface is not the most intuitive but it does the job.
Would you mind to tell us what phone set you got(and $$)?
Thanks

I have heard of good and bad of both,
I bought a 2 hand set from H/N,they didn't work, took it back and they gave another pair, they did work.
All with no questions asked.

642941 2008-02-25 08:20:00 My friend bought one at harvey norman realised the 3rd handset had problems and had numbers which were in the phonebook that wasnt ours.We took it back for a refund.

Went to dicksmith bought 3 handset and now it seems to be acting funny. How can 3m away from the base be out of range?

642942 2008-02-25 09:54:00 Howdy, he's a good friend of mine ;)

As for the phones, I was looking at a uniden triple pack, but given some of the comments I'm beginning to have second thoughts .

Saw a panasonic triple pack for about the same price, they are a bit bulkier but if they are more reliable . . .

Anyone tried panasonic?

I was considering that Linksys model but none of the DSE in Chch seem to have it in stock and several online stores (eg Acent) won't be getting any more in until mid march .

Generally I try to avoid online purchases but if anyone can recommend a reliable online seller I might take the plunge

cheers
