| 329892 | 2005-03-02 22:18:00 | I set Irom Maiden as the heading because it was the band that pioneered Heavy Metal. Oh dear. So you haven't heard of the original and seminal heavy rock band - Black Sabbath? Followed closely by Deep Purple, Uriah Heep (who had a bass player, Gary Thaine, from NZ) and Jethro Tull. We could throw in Iron Butterfly too. Ah callow youth. So much to learn. Where is Metla when we need him? ;) |

| 329893 | 2005-03-02 22:31:00 | Black Sabbath invented metal, Judas Preist defined it, Iron Maiden perfected it. The other bands you mentioned certaily strayed into metal terratory from time to time and had a huge influence on the genre but I wouldn't go so far as to call them metal pioneers, or maybe they are. There is an excellent and huge NZ metal site called Metal Roots that chrionicles the entire movement.Well worth a read for any music fan. http://metalroots.gw.net.nz/ I don't completely agree with the sites findings, I believe Sabbath made a huge leap into uncharted territory with their debut album rather then it being the small works of hundreds of lesser bands.Sites still a good read though. |

| 329896 | 2005-03-03 04:05:00 | Question, Why reply when you have nothing to say? Why not? Something preventing me from voicing an opinion? Your opinion on what makes rap / hip hop good is far different from a lot of people out there and your broadbrushed comments deserve the reaction I gave it. Lo. |

| 329898 | 2005-03-03 04:23:00 | For instance, if you go to schools, you will find that the students there that do not do well are mostly those who listen to rap. On the other hand the brighter students listem to other kinds of music. I second that! MOST of the people at MY school that listen to rap are the ones that are like "im gonna giv u a crak boe". |
