642603 2008-02-22 02:48:00 Just installed the above, it works well but won't record it keeps coming up with an error.

Running Windows XP. the current driver was downloaded before the card was installed.

Has anyone had any experience with this product?

Regards

642604 2008-02-22 03:11:00 Did you install the drivers and program from here (www.leadtek.com)

Are you using the PVR program??

I take it, this is your tuner ? (www.leadtek.com)

642606 2008-02-22 03:17:00 You didnt have a previous tuner (with drivers installed) before this or something, did you?

HOW exactly or WHAT exactly did you do??

Install the card, wait for the window to appear asking for the drivers, then install the drivers?

You didn't go to the windowsupdate site did you?

642607 2008-02-22 03:30:00 yes to the previous card, but to the best of my knowledge the software was removed before installation, I am not at that skill level yet.

The drivers were installed first although the instructions indicate differently and these were downloaded before installation.

Apart from the routine updates for windoze no specific visit was made in respect to installation.

642608 2008-02-22 03:41:00 I would look in device manager (maybe under sound, video and game controllers, click on the +).

This is where the old tuner drivers maybe (Well this is where the leadtek tuner drivers entries appear).

I would say, even tho you may have uninstalled the software for the previous tuner, I doubt it would have removed the drivers for it as well.

WHAT was the brand/model of the previous tuner??

Was it a leadtek/winfast as well?

If you can, take a snapshot of whats under sound, video and game controllers on your system. (press print screen on the keyboard).

And if you've got some kind of graphics program (like photoshop/paintshop), paste it into that and save it as a jpeg.

Then upload it to ImageF1 (http://imagef1.net.nz/)

Change it to advanced interface upload the pic, and copy/paste the link ImageF1 gives you back here.

Its just so I /We can see if the old tuner drivers are there, and it may work if you delete them.

Umm how are you running the PVR program ? From the desktop, or from the icon on the taskbar??

If from the taskbar, does it give you 2 options there?? For the current tuner and the old, to select from?

642609 2008-02-22 03:47:00 I have just checked and found the the previous tuner had not been removed, it has been done now and I am running a search for any files that may be associatted with it.

The tuner was TView

642610 2008-02-22 03:49:00 If you've deleted the old tuner drivers in device manager, try rebooting. And try and record again.

See what happens

642611 2008-02-22 03:53:00 OK thanks for that, I'll print all that lot out and have another look at it later when the grandkids have gone home. Not exactly the best environment at the moment for complicated things like this.

I've punched TView into the <Search files> and so far have come up with 27 although they are mostlikely not all associatted with the program.

642612 2008-02-22 03:55:00 No worries

Once you uninstall any program for the old tuner, and if you manage to find the drivers for the old tuner in device manager, then delete them. Then reboot (well hopefully, it'll default to the leadtek).

So you can record!
