643996 2008-02-27 08:16:00 To anyone who wishes to try it yourself, it is difficult to get the front of the cover off where the touchpad is, as there are two clips which are difficult to access. somebody (208)
643997 2008-02-27 08:38:00 A more direct link would be useful. I (and I guess many others) lose interest if an article is more than a couple of clicks away. Greg (193)

644000 2008-03-04 00:26:00 Just out of interest (Ive had a few complain about how the *think* the CPU will slow it down -- Even thou its still faster than most NEW XP / Vista boxes Ive used), it IS possible to upgrade the CPU if you're a real whizz with the soldering iron:

The "heatsink" is the thin metal plate underneath the keyboard, which also acts as the heatsink for the chipsets. If you pop the three small clips holding the keyboard in place, you can see the plate underneath, and the "dents" in the plate where it makes contact with the top of the chips.

The fan is located on the underside of the motherboard, and appears to circulate air around the RAM and associated circuitry there. There is no fan specifically for the CPU or chipset.

Have a look around eeeuser.com, as they have very detailed photos of the Eee PC ripped apart.
