| 331401 | 2005-03-07 01:38:00 | Big Byte Dunedin is closing it's doors (no surprise), I have been in there about 6 times since it opened, and have always been the only customer in the shop. I went in today to see if they were having any real good specials, and you cannot even tell what is on special. There are a couple of sign up, announcing the closing down sale, but no specific sales tickets announcing reductions on items. Are other stores in other centres doing ok, as far as anyone knows. |

| 331402 | 2005-03-07 02:18:00 | As far as I know Christchurch is doing the same, so it's likely to be nation wide. There is no easy money in selling computer hardware. Unsold stock would be transferred to the Noel Leeming or Bond and Bond chain (of which Big Byte belongs) so not sure that one would expect massive markdowns) |

| 331403 | 2005-03-07 02:34:00 | I went to look in at Big Byte in Christchurch last Friday. Locked my bike to the trolley rails and went to the door. Piece of paper says the shop is closed. Big signs saying things like "Big Savings Closing Down Sale". That parrot is dead. |

| 331406 | 2005-03-08 07:14:00 | Big Byte is dead. Christchurch is closed as of end of february. 3 of the 4 remaining stores will follow suit as at 31st march. Wellington is the only one staying open. Christchurch will re-open, as the local Bond + Bond store will move to that site. The same will happen in Palmerston North. Some big sales on in the closing stores. |
