330843 2005-03-05 06:40:00 how big is your power bill?

not is $$ because we all have difrent prices depending on what company and such like.

the real question is how many units do you use per month?
and how many in the house? what would be your big factors.

as for me my last bill shows 783 units.

this is for a two bedroom flat, one computer is on 24/7 but is with out monitor and is setup for lower power use. all wahing is done in cold water, no heaters used ever. new low power fridge.

what is normal?

330844 2005-03-05 07:08:00 I use 115 to 145 units/mnth. One person computer on about 5 hours/day, hot water carefully monitored, almost no oven cooking. I can't understand how so many units get used. zqwerty (97)

330846 2005-03-05 08:42:00 Summer usage approx 800 units/month. winter usage approx 1900 units/month All electric house. Main thing that pushes up winter usage are 2 de-himidifiers.

330847 2005-03-05 12:27:00 Why bother trying to artificially modify the environment you live in?

Move to an arid area. :p

330848 2005-03-05 14:12:00 950 - 1000 in Summer and heaps more in Winter. I dont conserve any power.

If I'm cold I will put the heating on before a jumper and sox.

When I turn the TV off I use the remote.

330849 2005-03-05 18:23:00 My January bill was 400 units.
The winter bills go through the roof because I live in typical Dunedin substandard housing - no insulation, leaking roof, mould growing on the walls and ceiling, and we're only allowed to use electrical heating:(

330850 2005-03-05 20:25:00 525.0672043010753 units according to my power manager thingy.....

What uses them? hmm.
No electric heating, most of the lighting is baby flouros, we cook mainly on gas, and there is instant water heating for the shower.

However i have installed a totally inefficient overhead water heater temporally providing the water for the kitchen, and there is a rack of power amplifiers in the lounge that always seem to provide some warmth out the top vents as well as warm sound for the room/house/street.

Mmmmmmmmmm :D

330851 2005-03-05 21:20:00 434 units for Feb. Would have to be one of the best we've had for a while :) Me, wifey, 2 kids, no genuine power conservation attempts.
