Your modem is the device that has a cable going from it to your PC, and a phone line going to a phone socket in your wall. When you joined up with your Internet Service Provider, they probably sent you one (possibly a D-Link brand?)

It's what you're referring to (I think) when you say you can
connect to the router and internet fine with a cable

Just to clarify, is you Linksys wireless router also your ADSL modem, or are they two separate devices? If they're separate, can you check how they're connected (which port on each is connected to the other)

644044 2008-02-29 05:39:00 It's going fine now. I'd like to say I fixed it myself, but no, I had an expert do it. The problems were all to do with the router settings. Thanks a lot for your suggestions though. Rossini (12327)
