| 331548 | 2005-03-08 01:01:00 | Since Firefox is my secondary browser the only extension I require is Tabbrowser Preferences. A huge number of the Firefox extensions people have listed here are already available built-in to my default browser, Opera, plus a whole lot more neat and nifty tricks. Opera is also way more customisable than Firefox and the download still manages to be a whole megabyte smaller in size. On top of that, on older slower computers Opera is way faster on the internet than Firefox as I have proven on my Win 98 PII 266 and other similar computers so I can't understand why more people don't use it. |

Because unless you pay for it, theres a nice advertising across half the top. Besides that, it IS a pretty good browser which should be supported by those who enjoy it enough. |

| 331551 | 2005-03-08 03:18:00 | "A huge number of the Firefox extensions people have listed here are already available built-in to my default browser, Opera, plus a whole lot more neat and nifty tricks." Opera fans see Firefox as lacking. Firefox fans see Opera as bloated. It works both ways "Opera is also way more customisable than Firefox and the download still manages to be a whole megabyte smaller in size." Much more customisable... how many extensions and themes does Opera have in comparison with Firefox? I call customisable being able to add stuff later, rather than disabling features that I don't need. "On top of that, on older slower computers Opera is way faster on the internet than Firefox as I have proven on my Win 98 PII 266 and other similar computers so I can't understand why more people don't use it." And I've found Firefox to be faster on my old computer (AMD 166mhz PR, 32MB RAM, Windows ME). So one person on the intarweb is hardly universal condemnation. |
