Before I can even attempt to quote would have your data backed up and all the cds that came with your computer? Do you just have a restore CD and a hidden partition or do you have a legal version of your current operating system on CD or DVD with a legal serial number? Do you have the motherboard drivers for your chipset etc?

What do mean by "secure" in steps 2 and 3?

Have you drivers for the TV card you wish to install under your operating system?

As it happens I only live about 3/4 hour from T/A.

OK. Step 2. Now that I know that secure means BUY. Thanks pcteck.

But the post says secure (buy) and how much memory. This is not mentioned. Add some memory. Of course I would have to ask how much memory and will the motherboard support the same.

Pretty much the same with the TV card as well. Would I have to get a signal to the TV card without input from an aerial. Then of course you wonder about outputs to other equipment.

A tech could spend three days there. The first two days could be taken up by trying to figure what was really needed in the first place.

You may be 100% correct but unlike some people I do not assume.

I guess I just try to ask questions to give me the information I need to make an informed decision.
