| 644604 | 2008-02-28 05:10:00 | can someone tell me if I can delete all the updates without getting into problems, I mean they're just sitting there using up space, or do they have to stay????? thanks. |

| 644605 | 2008-02-28 05:24:00 | Why would you want to remove them?? Security updates are there for a reason - Windows has security flaws at the best of times, so removing the updates would be very risky!! Or do you mean the $NtUninstall directories? Those can be removed. If you're running out of space, I'd suggest you get Registry Mechanic, and Windows Washer - you'll be amazed how much space and performance you'll get back by running these. Also, check the size of your system restore - given the size of modern drives, I usually set mine to 3% |

| 644606 | 2008-02-28 05:26:00 | Use ccleaner to get some space back, and yup you can delete the $NTuninstall folders . BUT then you wont be able to uninstall the updates/patches And if you dont use hibernation, disable it to get some space back |

| 644608 | 2008-02-28 18:29:00 | You can also from Program -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup. This will get more space back also. | jberries (13063) | ||
