334699 2005-03-16 05:40:00 Hi,

Is there a way to do it, I have this game being used for various FPS benchmark testing with vid cards .. but can't seem to do it.

I have also did some google search around and posted a question on one of the Flight Sim forums.....

Thanks.

334700 2005-03-16 05:52:00 Dont worry its: Shift Z

:D

334701 2005-03-16 06:58:00 Shift z once brings up position data, current fuel load and g's, shift z twice brings up FPS and shift z 3 times brings up both.

Happy landings. :D

edit

oh I see you've got it never mind :o

334703 2005-03-16 07:50:00 frames per second.

The more you have the smoother the game feels, looks smoother, responds quicker, and the better objects in the distance look.

60 to 120 is a sweetspot for any game.....

334704 2005-03-16 19:30:00 In MS Flight Sim I am getting 17/20 FPS. And it says "locked at 20 FPS". No wonder I am not happy.
How do I unlock the 20 FPS?
I have a GE Force 5200 card.

Never heard of a game placing such an a low cap on framerates before, One of the flight sim guru's will hopefully have an answer for that, though at a guess the game has configured itself as such based on the abilities of your video card.Still, there should (i would assume) be an ingame option to disable that.

Though even with the fps lock off you would need a real video card to get high framerates,or drop all the quality settings right down,........

334706 2005-03-17 18:46:00 MS FS runs quite smoothly at 20 fps, there is really no reason to have it higher - well no visible reason anyway . It's not like other games where you can 'see' the flickering at low fps. I have mine locked at 25 fps, as is required when on multiplayer servers as the game connects on a peer to peer basis and sends/receives data at the same rate as your fps. So if your fps is around 70 you send data 70 times per second to all other players on the server at the same time. This can put a drain on the server and other people's PC's who maybe are not as powerful as yours.

If you want to try a higher fps and see what it looks like you do it in the settings menu. Settings / display / hardware and move the target frame rate slider.

WHERE???? You are the second person to tell me this. I can not find it!
I may be dumb or blind or just stupid (perhaps all three), but I can't find any slider.

I am using win xp.sp2.

fps is now set to 80. BUT program only runs at 22. AND display is very poor.
Very hazy.
