| 333226 | 2005-03-11 22:12:00 | For goodness sake! The link I gave actually has them numbered, there are 138 in total. With variations within a major work, that number increases, but is that relevant? They too are listed. If we knew what you wanted it for perhaps? There is no simplistic answer. |

I would think it a better indication of education if you could whistle, hum, sing, or perform on an instrument even just one piece written by Beethoven. Do you get a "Not Achieved" if you say Beethoven wrote 137 pieces (but you can name any piece you hear), and "Excellent" if you say 138, but can't even name one piece he wrote? |
