333225 2005-03-11 21:51:00 I guess i will have to count them
But i was looking for just the amount as i dont really want to count all of the pieces
Dannz (1668)
333226 2005-03-11 22:12:00 For goodness sake! The link I gave actually has them numbered, there are 138 in total.

With variations within a major work, that number increases, but is that relevant? They too are listed.

If we knew what you wanted it for perhaps? There is no simplistic answer.

333227 2005-03-11 23:15:00 It is for a school project 500 words on Beethoven so thanks for the number Dannz (1668)
333228 2005-03-12 02:06:00 Why this emphasis on counting things. Is it because it is easy to mark? I would think it a better indication of education if you could whistle, hum, sing, or perform on an instrument even just one piece written by Beethoven.

Do you get a "Not Achieved" if you say Beethoven wrote 137 pieces (but you can name any piece you hear), and "Excellent" if you say 138, but can't even name one piece he wrote?

"... but I don't really want to count all the pieces".

Because to do that would be an effort?
