2005-03-11 12:19:00 | Has anyone got a charge for "operator assistance" on their bill. I got one when i didnt even speak to the operator to make the call!!!! And when you talk to someone at Telecom, they become a parrot "it was made from your line" Seems like right down to the floor level everyone is out to suck as much $$ as they can. This is just one of many reasons why everyone is getting fedup with theresa gattungs money sucking pig empire !!!

2005-03-11 12:57:00 | Lol.I like this joke from that website Three men are in a hot-air balloon. Soon, they find themselves lost in a canyon somewhere. One of the three men says, "I have an idea. We can call for help in this canyon and the echo will carry our voices far." So he leans over the basket and yells out, "Helllloooooo! Where are we?" (They hear the echo several times). 15 minutes later, they hear this echoing voice: "Helllloooooo! You're lost!!" One of the men says, "That must be Telecom NZ !" Puzzled, one of the other men asks, "Why do you say that?" The reply: "For three reasons. (1) they took a long time to answer, (2) they were absolutely correct, and (3) their answer was absolutely useless."

2005-03-11 22:05:00 | Yeah, are you sure you didn't call 018 at all? Even accidentally? I find it hard to imagine how people can outright claim that such little things never happened, when I honestly wouldn't remember. And if you do remember, maybe you actually don't and are only saying so to backup your ego.

2005-03-11 23:51:00 | No PaulD....theres only me and my wife. We are i think quite phone literate not to press buttons without looking/thinking first. I will not be surprised if you are Telecom employee. Cause the guy i spoke to sounded like i was dumb and must have used it accidentally or my auntie's kids might have done it when they came for afternoon tea!! And just yesterday i made a call using the normal process without going thru operator. Then after the call someone called from telecom saying this was charge. When i asked why are you telling me. She goes well its a callback just to advise the operator charge. She was confused as to why she was doing it when i told her it has never happened before!! And then when i wanted to speak to manager she said someone will give you a call in the evening about this....and i am still waiting!!!!

2005-03-12 00:43:00 | Ex telecom. Back in Post Office days people used to write to the Minister about charges they were disputing. In almost all cases when the time and date was established the customer finally figured out who had made the call. Your case sounds like Price required. If you dial a toll call starting with 013 for national or 0160 for international an operator will call back afterwards with the price. If you were not dialling any special codes just ask 123 to explain what's happening.

Sounds like your idea of "normal process" doesn't match everyone else's. You might like to share said process with the rest of the group. Edit: As for Vodafone's billing, it rules. I changed plans 3 months ago and I'm still getting 10 x the text allowance of the plan I'm paying for ^_^ |
