645717 2008-03-02 22:06:00 I have an ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro PCIx & Windows Vista Home Basic.

I keep getting constant video card has stopped responding messages about an hour or two apart. Am using the latest Drivers but this hasn't helped.

Have Athlon 64x2 6000+ with 3gb DDR2 Ram on Gigabyte GA-M55SLI M/B, running SATA2 discs.

I have a Viewsonic VA2226W 22" W/S LCD on DVI & 17" CRT on analogue output

Yesterday while awaiting the fabulous windows defrag to finish the whole PC locked up & had to be reset.

Any ideas ??

645718 2008-03-02 22:59:00 Sounds like the graphics card could be overheating.
Does the ATI software give you any info on temps etc?
Have you checked to see if the fan on the graphics card is going and not full of dust?

645720 2008-03-03 02:48:00 Well now that you mention it ...

I have the same type of problem.
I thought it was just a game issue though... but I think the 2600 pro is a POS!

I think you should send it back and get another model card... 2600 pros are crap.

Rant over...

645721 2008-03-03 03:28:00 Card reports it is running at 38 degrees c. I might have to go back to Nvidia card I think. Stirringaxe (7782)
