2005-03-21 01:44:00 | The forums are really flying at the moment - loading real fast. Now I just permanently blocked cookies from the ad-servers Doubleclick and mediaonenetwork before logging in. So I'm wondering is it just me and the no-cookies that've sped things up, or are the forums really quick today? | Greg (193) | |
2005-03-21 02:07:00 | They do seem to be snappeir today. Can't hurt to block those adservers though. | Murray P (44) | |
2005-03-21 02:11:00 | It could be that only a few people are online at the same time, and less stress is placed in the IDG server. More attention is given to your requests, so they are processed faster than usual. I get different results almost everyday. Some days it is fast, other days it is slower. This is the same for almost every website I go to.

2005-03-21 05:25:00 | Nice indeed to have the speed Actually, there've been rather a lot of us online this afternoon - which means lots of posts - which brings me to a related point. I know it's been mentioned before, but I don't recall an answer..? Since early afternoon, I've noticed that posts older than 2 1/2 hours have been relegated to Page 2. At 20 posts listed per page, they've been going down at a pretty fast rate. We could choose more per page on the old forum. So can this one offer the same - ever? Or is it impossible?

2005-03-21 05:29:00 | Sorry. Should've explained the two & a half hour display time was on PF1's page 1, not this page. | Laura (43) | |

2005-03-22 03:23:00 | Laura: use the "User CP" button in the toolbar, then "Edit Options". I've got it set to 80 postings per page. (Go right to the end of the Options page, and save them). | Graham L (2) | |

I too would like to have more posts shown on the one page. Thanks for mentioning it as I thought maybe I was the only one and it would not be worthwhile changing this behaviour just for me. Thanks for bringing it up. :illogical |
