335279 2005-04-07 02:44:00 The new Dr Who series will be shown here in Australia in mid-May, so I am holding out for it. Unfortunately, most of the reviews I have read about it say it sucked bigtime... vinref (6194)

There was nothing to see. I was a concept album of music by Jeff Wayne.

The original movie with Michael York and Jenny Agutter or the silly TV series that followed? The "car" they had in the TV series was a hoot. It was supposed to be like a hovercraft but you could often see the wheels ....

Sorry, a typo. Of course that should have been "I am a concept"

335286 2005-04-07 09:32:00 I used to have fond memories of the original BattleStar Galactica, nowadays it looks just campy and dated. On the other hand the new Battlestar Galactica is definite a high ranker. Very dark and gritty and I'm enjoying it a lot though I was prepared to hate it.
Anyone remember Sapphire and Steel which was almost as confusing as The Prisoner ?(starred Joanna Lumley - pre AB Fab days and David McCallum)
My vote for best ever sci fi series goes to Babylon 5. A coherent and linear storyline over 5 years with great cgi and the hero died the way Captain Kirk should have died -- in space in command of a starship not falling off a gantry on to some rocks.

335287 2005-04-07 11:09:00 Ominous voice intones: "Sapphire and Steel have been assigned"

Wonderfully creepy stuff.
