336964 2005-03-24 04:23:00 Why not instead of seperating them...
Instead at the bottom of the page before u submit a new thread..where we can pick pictures for the side of the page next to your thread (the Post Icons i think they are)...get rid of them and put something like..

a telephone icon meaning its a telephone issue..
a small pic of a video driver meaning its a driver issue..
a small computer monitor icon meaning its a general computer issue
a nuclear icon for adaware... (well not nuclear but i dunno what symbol ppl use for adaware)...
and maybe a question mark one for "i have a issue but dunno what it comes under"

but knowing that everyone would just click the ? one...but yeah...this is a idea so hope it goes somewhere :)

that way you can see yourself on the main page...and say "ohh that person has a adaware issue" by veiwing the picture of the nuclear icon next to the thread name...

wouldnt that make things alot easier instead of just seperating them all...

I wanna know what everyone thinks...

336965 2005-03-24 04:28:00 I'm still angry about the splitting between on and off topic comments.

And where's the view new threads button?

336966 2005-03-24 04:30:00 No. Any classification, if done by the poster, is just going to add confusion.

Lack of classification is not a problem. It doesn't need fixing. This subject has been done to death. Repeatedly. :groan:

One of the problems with categorisation is illustrated by the recent re-acquisition of the, HELP HELP HELP URGENT, thread heading bug . Where should a user file that, category 13? Unfortunately, the contents of the post are usually just as explicit so, splitting the forum will require far more knowledge than the average URGENT poster has, who additionally, obviously, doesn't have the time to acquire indepth information about their hard drive/cpu .

At least, as they are all currently posted in the one category, they get a range of experience and enthusiansm in the various classifications that peoples problems can come under .

Ah good, someone saved me from insanity - now for my other quarrel: how do you change font sizes in posts?

Sorry it doesn't work here
Sue (33)
336971 2005-03-25 10:28:00 In Firefox View-Text Size allows you to alter the font size for the whole page. In IE it only changes the IDG header. Terry Porritt (14)
336972 2005-03-25 11:09:00 Think Growly wishes to change the size of his text in his posts. Some forum's allow this option so you can use very small to very large sized text in your posts. This forum doesn't have that option. :) Jen (38)
336973 2005-03-29 04:01:00 Good. Because you "can do anything with software" doesn't mean you should. people can spend huge amounts of time improving the presentation of "content-free" pages. Graham L (2)
