645400 2008-03-01 21:48:00 Hi friends asked me if I could reset the password on their laptop Dell Inspiron running Vista home Basic. I booted into Offline NT password & reg-editor and found the list of users I was able to unlock the administrator account and delete the password.

But is it possible to log into the administrator account as there is another user also as admin and I need to delete this password too. NT will not allow this in Vista it will only allow the default admin account to be changed.

As this is a public forum and you might not want to make this type of info available to the general public can you PM me if you can help.

Thanks

You just have to type in the username that you want to reset the password for on the screen with the list.
It has in brackets at the end of the line next to the prompt (Administrator) which confused me at first.
