337370 2005-03-23 23:36:00 I am having problems with my AVG antivirus program.
Internal virus database has been out of date for days now and every time I try to get the updates I get the message "Update server is busy. Too many updates requests. Try again later. What can I do to get the updates? Has anybody else had these problems? Please help.

337371 2005-03-23 23:46:00 I use AVAST www.avast.com.

May be time for a change.

337372 2005-03-24 00:00:00 I use Avast too. It updates regularly and fast, auto or manual. Has a web shield which is an added protection layer, and a very good help forum.
Thorough scans can be slow - but there's a faster option with the standard scan too. I've used many AV programs, but the FREE Avast has impressed me for 2 years. However this is MHO only - it's a personal choice.
Which version of AVG is giving you grief?
BTW. If you opt for a different AV prog. remember to uninstall the old one first! (It can get chaotic if you don't!)

Many people are having this problem and while in some cases the server will be busy some people have tried many times over several days and they have found that uninstalling AVG and reinstalling again fixed the problem.

337375 2005-03-24 00:31:00 Hi Folks. It must be just pot luck. I have two AVG version 7's, the purchased one on one machine and the free one on another. Both are checked daily and have indicated no update problems for months. Scouse (83)
