2005-03-23 17:27:00 | Greetings PressF1, I am currently researching on the types of bonding of the molecules. I have no problem with ionic and covalent bonding, but just that I can't find more information about Dative bonding. I had tried googling it, used A9, used 100.com, but still can't find much. Can someone please point me to a link where you can find a page dedicated to Dative Bonding? Thanks people.

2005-03-23 20:55:00 | "Millions" of pages on dative covalent bonding, I could even vaguely remember this from school :) www.chemguide.co.uk www.newi.ac.uk www.teachmetuition.co.uk etc etc

2005-03-23 23:37:00 | That's odd. Googling "dative bonding" just now produced about 5500 relevant links not "millions" including this one (as found previously by Terry) www.chemguide.co.uk that gives Co-ordinate bonding as the alternative name. Does Google give different responses at different times?

2005-03-24 21:23:00 | Terry, I've heard of tribes where the numbering does basically jump from 20 odd to "millions". I was more puzzled why James claimed to have googled and found nothing. Just wondering if google "learns" from previous search attempts. | PaulD (232) | |

I DID found something on Dative bonding, but the only the examples are only ammonia-boron tetrafluoride and ammonium ion. The explanation is rather brief. I just need more examples (e.g. SOCL2) Thanks everyone for their effort. :) |
