2005-03-23 04:43:00 | Not yet. We used to have one forum mixed with on topic and off topic threads. We only separated them a few months ago. Maybe we can create separate categories later. But that would be Mary's job as she is the IDG Codegirl, aren't you Mary? :)

2005-03-23 05:14:00 | This (and other "improvements") has been discussed. At length. There isn't a problem. Splitting it up would cause problems. Classification is not easy. Most people with computer problems don't know whether the cause is hardware, operating system, application software, the telephone system, or organic.

2005-03-23 06:39:00 | I think the situation would be helped if we could view more threads per page . I used to use 100 on the old forum so that I could do a quick scroll down to check on threads I had posted in or see if I had missed any . Being a lazy bugger, I only occasionally checked up on page two or three . I keep the same habit now, so pages two, three, four and five hardly get a look in . Give use the option of more threads per page please .

2005-03-23 06:54:00 | I just look at the date and time in the right hand column when I get to the bottom . That decides whether I go to the next page . What I would like is a change to that navigation bar (e . g . "Page 2 of 1838 < 1 2 3 4 > Last >>") at the bottom . Rather than ">" and "<" and the tiny page numbers, how about "Next" and "Prev" instead of the ">"and "<"? We have a "Last" (and ">>") for the (I hope rare) times when we want to go to the very oldest page . I could live without that . ;)

Give use the option of more threads per page please . This has already been discussed in another thread, and Mary has already kindly upped the number of threads per page to 30 today . Unfortunately, it can't be a user defined option and Mary has said that 30 is a midway solution to allow those on dialup to have reasonable page loading, while giving others more threads per page . :) Mary's comments re number of threads per page ( . pcworld . co . nz/showthread . php?t=55846&page=2&pp=10" target="_blank">pressf1 . pcworld . co . nz) . |
