| 338886 | 2005-03-28 11:05:00 | Ladies and Gentlemen, WE HAVE A WINNER. It is a glorious day indeed (if your inclined to bath in the glory of a pc game). Anyhow. Against my better judgement I purchased Rugby 2005 a few days ago,(the prior release 2004 was so poor that EA should have refunded everyones purchase and wrote them a personal apology and given them a voucher for 2005...yep,it was that bad) Zinzan's Championship rugby released last year was another pig of a game, looking like Bob the Builder on a Lego scene. Anyhow, 2005 fixes nearly everything that was so retarded on 2004 and includes multiple training modes plus a short video that explains the basics for dummies, Thats a great start, I couldn't even complete the first phase of the tutorial on 2004... In the new game you feel in control of the onscreen action and are able to make em do what you want, when you want, Giving free flowing games and lots of action. Its not all rosy though, Its miles away from the game it could be if it was designed for the PC rather then being a console port, Lack of camera manipulation and controller configuration are the 2 main issues, and the clipping of the graphics which happens often i would imagine to be invisible when played at the low detail and resolution offered by a console and TV combo, Crowd also looks stupid with a black outline around each person. Carlos looks as white as a sheet for some reason. The players also have a sheen to them in the close up shots, probably attributed to the resolution I'm running the game at (another thing that bugs me is that it refuses to go up to 1600x1200) I give her a 3 out of 5,with 1 knocked off it for its console roots/limitations. The All Black haka alone is worth the purchase price. um...what else... Need a gamepad to play, don't even try without one. Learning curve is quite steep, I haven't managed to win a game yet......lmao. |

| 338892 | 2005-04-04 06:00:00 | I finally got myself a copy of Rugby 2005, but I am having problems. Apologies if I have missed something so simple, but I don't know where I can change my controller configs. I have a gamepad with 8 buttons, but the right pass and left pass don't make sense. I want to change the controller settings so I can make sense of what I am doing on the field. Help me... the all Blacks are getting beaten all the time, and thats not permitted! |

| 338893 | 2005-04-04 06:08:00 | You can't,due to it being a console port(and the devs taking shortcuts) the configuration is locked. I was lucky enough to have a gamepad that has a configuration built into the game (the list is in the readme)..... |
