| 338725 | 2005-03-29 00:24:00 | Here are a few: I once had one of those Pizza Napoli pizzas from the kiosk at university - that gave me food poisoning. The last time I had a few chicken nuggets from the hot food section of New World Metro (on Wellington's Willis Street) they also gave me food poisoning with technicolour yawn etc. However on previous occasions I had heated them in the microwave at work. Seems to be the moral of the story - never trust hot food unless it has been nuked in the microwave since purchase. I guess both joints are lucky that the Ministry of Health website doesn't have an easy way to report such incidents via web forms or e-mail. |

Everyone that gets gastroenteritis will automatically blame some fast food chain/restaurant for it. Often the cause can be found closer to home or from catching it from others ... If you get your gastroenteritis diagnosed by a laboratory and it is found to be caused by a notifiable organism, then this is reported to the local Medical Officer of Health by your Doctor. I'm not sure what they do with all the individual notifications, but they will be watching out for outbreaks where there is a sudden increase in reported infections from a certain area and this is then investigated. Finding foreign objects/insects etc in your food and unhygienic work practices is different. There is a food safety concerns and enquiries page here (www.nzfsa.govt.nz) which also states you can contact your local Environmental Health Officer or the Health Protection Officer for more specific complaints. |

I know a friend whos wife worked there who said it was managed by Polynesians and that it constantly got E Gradings. Oh Vinref, About the Crown Rest. Goto the one across the road. Definitely a lot tastier and cleaner :p |

Definitely a lot tastier and cleaner :p All KFC outlets in major sites, such as LynnMall St Lukes, Manukau City Shopping Centre, Newmarket etc, are owned and managed by the parent company Restaurant Brands. And if it was managed by Polynesians, Koreans, Dutch, Maori etc, it does not necessarily mean it is unhygenic. Across the road where? Further down East Tamaki Rd? |
