| 646869 | 2008-03-07 09:47:00 | After trying to reinstall RC1 several times (once in safe mode) there still were no removal entries either in add/ remove programs or c:\windows , so I took a gamble , bit the bullet & installed RC2 straight over the top, against Microsoft's advice, Been running the machine hard out now all day - no problems & running sweet as!! Although there is still not a sign of any removal options etc.??? I'll look into it more when I have the time. |

| 646870 | 2008-03-09 04:00:00 | Good new for me I think. When I built the box I using now over the Christmas holidays I slip streamed win XP SP3 RC1. So I was hoping I would be able to install the final SP3 on top. And it looks like the final is out. The MS download center has SP3 available for download (no RC number to be found) published 3/6/2008 | DoubleR (13474) | ||
| 646871 | 2008-03-09 04:16:00 | Do you mean this ? (www.microsoft.com) Its RC2 that came out on 6/3/08. Its the same version that puts an entry in the registry, so you could get it from the WU site (but it was only 38k). This is the full install of the same file |
