| 646241 | 2008-03-04 11:32:00 | Yeah, I use it daily and in both web-based and IMAP form. I hooked my main one up "Tue, Sep 7, 2004 at 5:02 PM" (anyone top that? it wasn'tsuper earlier but I'm sure was within the month it launched "publicly") and have collected a few others along the which I use all under the same original account. A few tips while we're on the subject of Gmail. The first is for email in general where you can tweak your address with a "+" modifier, for example sending an email to "myname+pressf1@gmail.com" would actually send to "myname@gmail.com" with a label set as "pressf1" (although some forms don't allow + in their validation which is wrong, "+" in emails is perfectly valid). With Gmail more specifically, dots can be used anywhere in an existing Gmail address too, for example "my.name@gmail" is the same as "myna.me@gmail". Those two tips can be used in conjunction with filter rules to sort email, especially if you supply family a certain one and sign up to promotionals with another. The last tip is that any "@gmail.com" account automatically has the "@googlemail.com" equivalent. As far as I know these are totally seperate accounts (although logging in with the same password) so maybe that's a good seperation for personal and promotional related email. |

| 646242 | 2008-03-04 17:47:00 | I use it daily no spam, fast to load, absolutely no issues at all loads into Outlook 03 fine and when viewed on the web with FF. I use it for all sites that need an address before entering such as PF! | gary67 (56) | ||

How did you find out when you signed up? |

| 646244 | 2008-03-04 19:57:00 | I did have a gmail account but I went to the settings menu and deleted/deactivated my account as I never used it. I just use my ISP email account fillterd with mailwashser, I have 2 main ISP accounts - my personal one and the one for online stuff and hobby stuff outside of the cyber world like hobby clubs and stuff or shop loyalty schemes. Having it in a software available when I want offline is more practical for myself. |

| 646246 | 2008-03-04 20:22:00 | I use gmail and love it. I used to have an ISP address, but moved to gmail entirely, partly because of its portability. I've had it since who knows when, I remember getting the invite from some auto-invite some guy put up on some forum (don't think it was PF1, but I might be wrong). | ubergeek85 (131) | ||
| 646247 | 2008-03-04 20:39:00 | I've been using it since '04 and it must have been one of the tech 'products' of the year back then. | jason_f90 (3544) | ||

I hooked my main one up "Tue, Sep 7, 2004 at 5:02 PM" (anyone top that? it wasn'tsuper earlier but I'm sure was within the month it launched "publicly")...Sometime in August, 2004. Not sure when exactly (I have deleted my invite-related emails) but the oldest message in my account is dated "Wed, Sep 1, 2004 at 10:27 PM". | Erayd (23) | ||
| 646249 | 2008-03-04 22:59:00 | Got an account, cant even remember why I created it now :confused: Must have been trying it out or something, but only used it once or twice. | wainuitech (129) | ||
| 646250 | 2008-03-05 02:17:00 | You could have setup outlook or thunderbird to receive gmail. Since I have ISP email I rather use that and it doesn't cost me anymore. |
