646523 2008-03-05 07:52:00 I have recently inherited a Dell Dimension 2400 computer with 256k of PC2700 RAM. The local shop is selling DDR2 667 for the princely sum of $39 for 512k. Would it work in the Dell? MACIAN (6176)
646524 2008-03-05 09:13:00 PC2700 is the older DDR-333 RAM so the new DDR2 RAM won't work with that PC.
You would need to get DDR-333, if you can still find it, or DDR-400 RAM should work fine.

Go to www.crucial.com and run the System scan. It will tell how many free slots and how much RAM the PC can take.

646525 2008-03-06 06:22:00 I guessed that but am lazy and thought it would be easier to buy local than over the net.

Thanks
