2008-03-08 04:41:00 | Hi, I'm trying to install Office 07 Home & Student onto my Vista Home Premium x64 PC. The installation gets part way through, then I get this message: i59.photobucket.com There is an MS KB article on this error (support.microsoft.com), but it appears to refer only to Windows XP based computers (Vista has .NET pre-installed and unavailable in the uninstallation menu) Any ideas?

2008-03-08 04:57:00 | This guy had the same error (thevistaforums.com) Not with Office though. HOW did you install Vista?? A clean install, or was it an upgrade? Or did you buy it as a system??

2008-03-08 05:09:00 | I built the system & installed Vista myself in January. Haven't had any issues until now. I've just tried the fix in that thread with no luck. And I've just got a new (related) error, this time from Windows Update: Code 80070002. I've tried the suggested solution (by deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder), but still get the same error :annoyed:

2008-03-08 05:20:00 | Since MS say its caused by netframework CAUSE This issue may occur when the Microsoft .NET Framework installation on the computer is damaged or is missing. Have you tried downloading the suggested package from MS and installing that ?? ( MS Link you provided to error message) Download From Here (www.microsoft.com)

2008-03-08 06:10:00 | Post a hijackthis log, its in my sig below. Some sites say malware can cause this error as well. Put it in its own folder then run it, then click on scan the system and save a log. Copy and paste the log here. Other programs like teatimer (part of Spybot S&D), Webroot Spy Sweeper, Ad-watch (part of Ad-aware), Lavasoft Ad-aware SE Plus, and Spyware Doctor. Can also cause this error. If any of these are installed and running kill them. So, any programs that scan the registry or anti-spyware programs that stop malware from adding entries to the registry can give you this error. Kill them. Another site says this may fix things (blogs.msdn.com)
