| 341786 | 2005-04-05 02:41:00 | I remember ages ago on Fair Go about some guys selling PCs door to door and they were a major rip-off. ANyway just went to see a guy who was looking to upgrade (the whole box). It was from Gamma Computers originally, a 486-66, 4 mb ram no idea what size HDD, 4x CD. He bought it from a guy who came to the door 5-6 years ago for $5000!!!!! He was told it was new. (I'm not saying Gamma sold it to him) Anyway its stuffed so he's looking to get a new box, but geez, thats seriously bad. Love to know who those guys were! |

Its might have cost that new. When I bought a 386SX-20 (1MB, 40MB HD, no CD) in 1990, that was just under $2000. A CD would have been very expensive then, and 486-33 boxes were about $3000. Probably $500 would have been a reasonable price for a good 486DX2-66 5-6 years ago. |
