340091 2005-03-31 23:08:00 Hi,

WHen u get sky digital installed do u have to pay the sky tv installer on the spot while he/she is at ur house? If so, what payment options do they have?

340092 2005-03-31 23:40:00 yes, unless its prepaid.

cash or cheque tho some may accept credit cards.

340093 2005-04-01 00:00:00 sorry add to that .....

some parts of the country it cheque only. with cash its your loss if it goes missing which it often does. ask the installer when he rings as sky always give the generic bull**** answer which may not apply.

340094 2005-04-01 09:22:00 The installers get screwed by Sky so they need to be paid on the spot to make a living. Not a job I would take on. Winston001 (3612)
340095 2005-04-01 11:46:00 sorry winston but the money collected is not for the installers. its not an "install fee". all $$$ goes back to sky. installers get paid seperately (assuming they don't get ripped off by sky and/or contracting company). tweak'e (69)
340096 2005-04-01 16:56:00 Erm, talking about SkyTV. Isn't is worth it if I get a big satellite dish and install at the garden of my house so that I can receive TV channels up to Saudi Arabia? Cheers :) Renmoo (66)
340097 2005-04-02 00:33:00 you tell me and we will both know ;)

biggest problem with overseas channels is a lot are now digital and encoded so you need to subscribe to that channel and the company may not allow overseas veiwing. i have no idea what sat channels are advaiable free to air these days.

340098 2005-04-02 01:46:00 Not a lot of satellites even have a footprint in NZ, just because there is a sattelite in orbit is no guarantee that it can be received here. godfather (25)
