648510 2008-03-11 06:52:00 Hi, I have been searching around on Google for a while trying to find a New Zealand websites selling cheap computer components.

I saw this (ancient) thread (forums.pcworld.co.nz) on goggle and read through it. I like the idea from trying to buy from a wholesaler and looked at the one they mentioned (TechPacific) but that made sure you were a reseller in the application, which I'm not.

So does anyone know of any NZ computer wholesalers that don't have too much screening of there users ;)? Or if anyone knows of any normal NZ website with good deals please point my in the right direction.

648511 2008-03-11 07:00:00 So your trying get parts slightly cheaper from Wholesalers and want 1 of this 1 of that - to save a few bucks ??
(TechPacific) but that made sure you were a reseller in the application, which I'm not.
AND thats the reason they MAKE SURE you are a reseller - not just some cheap scape.

I'll let you in a small secret - some of the prices of wholesale are so close to prices on pricespy its not worth the trouble.
Some places that advertise on price spy are selling at wholesale.

Yesterday I had a customer who is doing some work for me at wholesale prices on the industry hes in and wanted new Laptop - so I showed him the whole sale prices - he was shocked at how much of a mark up there ISN'T. If you buy 100 of this or 1000 of that you get good prices, but 1 off's forget it.

648512 2008-03-11 08:23:00 just hunt around the stores. just be aware that buying cheap sometimes buys a boot load of problems. faulty products and lack of replacements etc.

even tho i have few wholesale accounts its often cheaper to buy retail, the free shipping more than offsets the difference in cost.

To back up what tweak'e is saying - I like wise have many wholesale accounts - Heres One items price ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/Price1205224379 . jpg" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) from Tech Pacific or Igram Micro as they are now called . Work out the "Markup" you will see " My Buy Price" ( wholesale) - & RRP .

Now add in the $8 approx to freight from Auckland to Wellington - huge saying eh!

648514 2008-03-11 08:53:00 I use ascent.co.nz or pp.co.nz and they are good priced and free delivery and good service. That's my benchmark.

If you want a new but cheap computer - you can get the good but older stuff that is still being sold. A yr or ore ago, I built my bro $100 per component of the following:

Great for everyday computing.

CPU
Motherboard with onboard video and audio.
HDD SATA
512MB RAM
Case and PSU (about $50).
DVD RW about $60.

Works well. No issues.
Old monitor, mouse and keyboard and floppy drive.

Don't support your local PC shop will you. As Wainuitech says, markup in hardware is stuff all.

So because you probably deserve each other I can tell you Zcom will allow anyone at all to buy from them at "wholesale".
