I just came across . http://www . maksil . com/ Altho, the leadtek Deluxe/Expert tuners, DO have a program on the leadtek site, this program also works with these tuners . BUT u HAVE to get the beta version of this program (so I found out), and get the zip file as well . To extend it to Dec 2005 (since its a beta) . If the release version doesnt detect your tuner, you may have to use the beta version/update . You may also need Windows Media Encoder from here . microsoft . com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default . asp" target="_blank">www . microsoft . com This program also installs a reg file for the video/country/PAL_B etc for the country, and these to be set properly in order to get the channels . Close this program (MSDVR), before u change the reg file . To make it easier (You need to go to the above site for the right settings), those in NZ there's 3 settings in this reg file . The 1st should be 64 for NZ 16 for PAL_B and the 3rd 1 for antenna or 0 for cable . Once these have been entered save it then dbl click on the reg file to put what u just did in the registry! Then re-run MSDVR |

| 342590 | 2005-04-07 21:20:00 | No worries :) Umm what was the prob with the tuner program off the Leadtek site?? Did it crash?? Were u using the latest version? and the latest drivers? Didn't work? This program I think most probably works with USB tuners as well . I havent got a USB tuner to test it tho . If they use WDM drivers . |

| 342591 | 2005-04-08 03:28:00 | If i remember right, i couldnt get any reception using the leadtek software for some reason . I've unplugged the ariel now . ( Was running a coax cable off a 3 way joiner/splitter from the tv in the lounge to computer in bedroom) . I mainly use the leadtek card to capture from my analouge Hi8 camcorder . I'm transferring all my tapes onto discs . Took me awhile to figure out a good way to capture the footage and convert . (blimin scan lines :mad: ) Just out of curiousity, do you have a good method? . The way i do it is pretty good but when doing full resolution, 720x576, i still get scan lines . Also doubles as a great webcam on yahoo too :thumbs: Cheers Brian |

| 342592 | 2005-04-08 07:56:00 | Umm I had the same prob with this tuner, about a month ago, where I couldnt get any channels thru the tuner program . (It was working previously tho) . Was yours working before?? Using the Leadtek tuner program? BUT XP detected the tuner , and the drivers . I put the tuner in another PCI slot, to see if the PCI slot it was in had died . And no, I still couldnt get a channel . So, since it was still under warranty, I took it back to the shop, since I found out the tuner in it had died somehow / was stuffed . You couldnt get a channel BUT physically the card was OK, since even tho I pulled it out of the PCI slot, it was in, and put it in another slot, it still showed up in Device manager . And there were no conflicts, no X, no ! saying it wasnt working . Got the replacement, and it's up and running again . Maybe the tuning part of your tuner is dead . If it doesnt work with the Leadtek program or this MSDVR program, take it back and get it replaced, if its under warranty . I've only used the Leadtek tuner program a few times (not recently), BUT put it on MPEG 2 Optimal Quality, no probs at all . (BUT that was from the tuner program, not an external device like a VCR or video recorder) . If I want to record something, I use a video camera with a firewire connection . So don't / didnt use the tuner program to record with . BUT those scan lines only appear when u use it from the Video Cam?? Might be the quality of the video you're recording . Might have to lower from 720*576 . See if its any better |

| 342593 | 2005-04-08 09:11:00 | Yep, i'll do that, I'll try the software you mention above but if i still cant get it to work then i think i'll take it back to the shop. It's still under warranty. The scan lines only appear on full resolution capture?. I can get very good quality captures using the Huffy codec at 352x288 but since i'm buying a dvd writer soon i'd like to be able to do full res. To poor to buy a digital video camera or else all my probs would be solved. Thanks for your help, Brian. |

| 342594 | 2005-04-08 09:19:00 | No worries. Umm how fast is your system?? That might be a factor maybe?? Or yup just try different codec settings. See which one is better. Don't forget your receipt, if u do decide to take the tuner back! |

This is what it is anyway; HP 2.2ghz P4 80gb hd 512 mb ram DVD rom 48x24x48 cdrw Nvidia MX420 32mb graphics card Leadtek TV2000 deluxe card firewire card XP Home Ok, just checked your profile and my computers not similar. :o |

| 342596 | 2005-04-08 21:54:00 | Umm your system is or should be fast enough . Just a tad slower than mine . So, that shouldnt be a prob . Mines a 2 . 4 A videocard with more memory might help (either a 64 or 128mb) . Or try updating the videocard drivers (to 71 . 84 - official), and directx 9 . 0c (if you havent got this version yet) . |

| 342597 | 2005-04-09 01:05:00 | Yeah my video cards a bit lame. It plays UT2004, CoD, Far Cry ok but.......Might be able to upgade it in a month. Not sure what to buy yet. I sorta wanna stick with Nvidia but could be swayed. Have to research abit to see whats the best in my price range. Will have about $150-$200 to spend. Untill then i'll upgrade my drivers. Just checked and I've got version 6.6.9.3. I've got DirectX 9.0c installed. |
