342294 2005-04-09 06:56:00 I haven't quite grasped this. Do you guys mean that your cellphone is permanently on, in you pocket or on your hip, with a permanently open line? And you just shout at it?

What if your Mum calls? :horrified

Do you set up a group on the phone, or on the web, or do Telecom do it for you?

Won't this be reliant on extra good battery life?

I can imagine using an RT with gloves or muddy hands, but a fiddly cellphone?

Sounds a bit gimmicky, but then again, so did texting.

No, its called Press To Talk (PTT) so one presumes that one presses the button to talk, and may have ones cellphone say things like "Where's the ******* spanner gone now?" or "Which way to Ekamatua?" in loud and audible tones similar to those used in "Hands free" mode.

Probably no more so than having your cellphone on standby ready to ring

Sounds a bit gimmicky, but then again, so did texting. True, and texting has proved itself VERY practical in some situations, hell i get my calls to (casual) work as a text message nowadays

My only concern is would it work well in a noisy environment?
