343035 2005-04-11 02:22:00 I have a monthly visitor who insists black and blue that I am to immediatly wipe XP from his computer and install Win95.

Then his wife tells him he is a twit and over her dead body they are going back to W95.

Then the husband informs me he paid me good money for the computer and that I have to do as he says (he wants the work done for free),Which is when i remind him that he got a price off me,then took a cheaper option from some guy who now refuses to take their calls(sold em a celeron 233 with pirated copy of XP for $399,Its knackered)...ah well......I tried to tell them.......

343037 2005-04-11 02:47:00 Nope, I don't even know the names of the couple I described, even though they have been poping in since the first week I opened the shop.

The same guy even rings me from time to time to tell me "this damn machine you sold me won't send emails"......It can get quite tiresome.....

Hang on, you're saying you didn't actually sell him a PC and he still rings you up to ***** about the PC he thinks you sold him?

343039 2005-04-11 03:16:00 Yep.

The computer (purchased elsewhere) has given problems since the day they got it, Being the kind soul that I am I told him to bring it in and I would check out what was going on with his internet connection (worked fine, I told him it had to be a wiring issue in his house) since that day he thinks I am now responsible for his comp. (I also know he has made over 90 phone calls to his ISP, and never once had the jacks or wiring looked at)

Before he made the purchase I gifted him a Pentium 200 (running W98) that another customer off loaded onto me when they purchased a replacement, he tried to put in his old Harddrive that had W95 on it and killed the motherboard doing it....

Trouble with a capital T.

343040 2005-04-11 03:27:00 There definately are exceptions to the rule that the customer is always right ... Biggles (121)
343041 2005-04-11 04:24:00 ahh....customers...

On one hand you have those that bring in a new coffee cup for me after seeing the coffee stained and chipped relic I have been using, and the bakey owner who made a special trip to drop off a cream cake and and buscuit for my morning tea (Mayfair bakery, good people)

Then you get the hippie who shouted me down when I informed him a case fan didn't mean he should disable the fan in his psu...and I mean he started to roar at me, I had to eject him from the shop, or the aussie that told me i was going to die because i refused to download songs and burn them to a cd for him, or the travelling salesman who ripped me off for a $120 bucks using a story about his wifes suicide.....Or the white looking guy who came in to tell me Wanganui had a bad vibe, then insisted it was the moari's bringing the place down, (at which point i was nodding(always agree with nutters untill you have a plan) while thinking of a way to get rid of him, Which is when he then informed he was a Moari and I had just insulted his Tangata something or other.....He was ejected by the scruff of his neck and a kick up the backside.

And I'm a big ugly guy, I would hate to see how smaller people get on.....

But they are the ones he loves the best. They always end up buying a system from him (eventually...) and recommend him to all their friends so there's always a constant stream of other loopy people coming through the door with jobs to do and home-made chocolates, jam, bread, rhubarb muffins and chocolate brownies to eat. :p :D

Well there was your mistake. You GAVE him a PC. Old admittedly but of course now you are responsible for everything.
Send him a bill for your time and phone support, I find that always works.
