341903 2005-04-05 23:20:00 How do you know how much i paid for my computer? Could you really build 5?
Get a grip chilling silence.
My comment was not intended as a joke, you people payed good money for a product that is flawed, maybe MS should be giving away antivirus and spyware programs with xp as part of the OS

341906 2005-04-06 02:00:00 Correct, you have not outright said "If my mac was like that", but we can get your drift:

341907 2005-04-06 03:02:00 IBM decided to wait until they had checked that it wouldn't destroy their company. They have a lot of custom software. If 380,000 desktops stopped working it would cause some problems. ;)

In the days when you bought a real computer, it would come with an operating system, under a separate mantenance contract. If the software had too many "problems", the users had one final argument which would get the problem fixed: "Back your truck up".

How many of IBM's 380,000 desktops do you think have access to any outside networks? I suspect many of these "non SP2" businesses operate in relatively secure environments.

341910 2005-04-06 05:08:00 yeah, well, i've installed sp2, together with av softwre, on over 20pc's and so far have had no install problems, or security problems. nerds :illogical seem to forget that most people dont really have a clue about firewalls or antivirus software, and SP2 manages this issue for those people.. of course there will be security issues with a new product like xp conisdering the scale of the release...

all this blithering about linux and mac's, lol...bill gates will own u too
