648709 2008-03-12 00:14:00 My Sony vaio laptop, like other manufacturers, has these stickers on it that I would like to remove. One simply states that the notebook supports HD1080, another one is from Intel, another for windows vista and a fourth one stating 'vaio official warranty'. Just wandering I ain't going to void the warranty or anything if I remove these stickers especially the last one. AST (13503)
648710 2008-03-12 01:02:00 Nah, of course it won't. It would only void your warranty if you started breaking off bits of hardware. pctek (84)
648711 2008-03-12 01:04:00 obviously!!:) Silver_Blade (10144)
648712 2008-03-12 01:14:00 I would be hesitant to remove the stickers.

It will not void your warranty but I wonder about whether this action would affect the resale value should you decide to sell the laptop in the future.

Presumably you have a dated reciept for proof of purchase and a written warranty with terms and conditions. This should cover any warranty issues.

Do not remove the serial no if it is on a sticker! :-)

I'd say by the time he wants to sell it the warranty will be gone anyway. And who cares if it has its Intel Inside sticker or such? People want to know specs and if it still works properly, not what stickers used to be on it.

648714 2008-03-12 05:00:00 Note that I am a university student (hence little money) and that this laptop is more likely to be passed around the family than sold. AST (13503)
648715 2008-03-12 12:30:00 No, they come off pretty quickly if it gets some very heavy use and it definitely won't void the warranty.

Just be careful when taking them off so it doesn't scratch.

Did you notice that whenever Dell advertisement is shown on TV, it always blares out "Intel Inside" first before proceeding to introducing XYZ model of computers? Psychologically speaking, people may tend to associate nice, flashy (and good!) computers with the first thing they see.

Cheers :)

648717 2008-03-12 21:11:00 It's like HP's, having maybe 5 stickers all over the front telling you how good their cd burning software is... Agent_24 (57)
