| 649706 | 2008-03-15 19:46:00 | Hi to all again, is there a way I can make a PC to boot from a USB flash drive if the PC is old and doesnt have that option on the setup? I have a Compaq presario 5400US desktop, very old, and after I press F10 it lets me go to setup but it only boot from CD or floppy, the hard disk died, thats why I need to boot from a USB. Any ideas my friends? | JOYBEBA6679 (10686) | ||

| 649709 | 2008-03-15 20:06:00 | You'll have to see if there's an updated BIOS for your system (and see if it supports booting from USB devices (or USB flash drives). If there's no BIOS update (or if there is, but it doesnt support booting from USB), you'll have to buy another hdd. Remove the dead hdd, then install the new hdd, then reinstall windows / whatever on the new hdd. |
