649484 2008-03-14 22:58:00 I have downloaded and tried to install Firefox on my Toshiba laptop (it all works beautifully on my desktop) BUT after installing successfully and then trying to go online I get this message:

"Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.clear.net.nz. (or anything else)
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

My network connection is ok (for anything else, that is, using IE6 and transferring files back and fro). Otherwise - any suggestions as to what I am missing?

TIA as always. :)

You have added FF to your firewall list of allowed programs?
