| 649148 | 2008-03-13 10:48:00 | Hi guys I have a few old cassette recordings that I made a few years ago. I want to convert them to CD. I realise I have to record them to a WAV file and then convert that to say an MP3. I will use Audio Grabber to make the Mp3s. But what program can I use to record the WAV from the cassette ? I have tried Microsoft Recorder but it only lets me record files of 1.39 minutes long ? Any suggestions ? |

This will separate your left and right channels and give you stereo. My MP3’s are ok but you only hear your music out of either the left or right speaker.. Unless you have left/right inputs to your soundcard. d |

Generally output is green, mic is pink and line in is blue. Plug it into the line in and it will be sweet. |

| 649154 | 2008-03-14 04:48:00 | When you move your audio to your computer it will be mono . You only have an in to your soundcard . You will have to use a USB input device . This will separate your left and right channels and give you stereo . My MP3s are ok but you only hear your music out of either the left or right speaker . . Unless you have left/right inputs to your soundcard . d That's not really true . . but there are times when all you can get is a mono download or input . . . and then I use Audacity to artificially create "stereo" by separating the channels and then equalizing the left to a higher freq range and cut off the lows a little . Then just Mute that left channel and work the right channel over with a Bass Boost or change the curves as you see fit . You can drag the freqs you want to amplify or decrease the response by using your mouse pointer to drag the freq plot to the heights or low-ness you want . There is also the ability to sample the changes before you commit . . and even then you can STILL resort back to the untainted version in the EDIT tool . Audacity is so-o-o-o kewl! |
